International Plastic Free Day : A Day of Impact and Inspiration

On May 25th, 2024, Lokaa Foundation volunteers united for International Plastic-Free Day with a powerful vision: to nurture Mother Earth and create a cleaner, greener planet.

What began as a simple idea evolved into a global movement, inspiring communities across Mumbai, Pune, Belgaum, Surat, Vizag, and Abensberg.

At Dadar beach in Mumbai, volunteers kicked off with Soul Sync meditation, followed by a cleanup and lively antakshari session. Pune's Arai Hill saw a collaborative effort with The GreenLife Foundation, featuring early morning cleanups, Yoga, and Ashtachala meditation. In Belgaum, volunteers revitalized a local park and meditated to strengthen their bond with nature. Surat’s Dumas beach became a vibrant hub of activity with thorough cleanups, Yoga, and jamming sessions. Vizag volunteers inspired morning walkers during their beach cleanup and coordinated with a recycling unit for proper disposal of collected waste. Abensberg's public spaces were cleaned, followed by activities raising awareness about plastic pollution.

Meanwhile, children from the world villages and Lokaa Foundation volunteers cleaned their villages and headed to the nearby Ubbalamadugu Waterfalls for a cleanup activity, sparking a bi-weekly mission to maintain its beauty. These collective efforts showcased the power of unity and inspired many to continue protecting our planet. Join us in nurturing Mother Earth for a healthier, greener future.
